I attended a reading by Tom Vanderbilt, the author of Traffic: Why We Drive The Way We Do at Brazos Bookstore on Tuesday. All of 7 people in attendance. I usually feel safer in a bike lane than riding in a travel lane for cars, particularly at intersections, but this research says this may not be the case.

The Intermodality blog posted an interesting piece on what they thought the transportation priorities should be for Houston’s next Mayor. Many good ideas that will require Mayoral leadership but also input from TxDOT, the County and the community to make happen.
