What is it that in many cases, the French seem to be ahead of the US on innovation in transportation design. First they are putting in roundabouts at something like 1000 per year, and now this. The diverging diamond, an innovative interchange design being implemented in Missouri has been utilized in France since the seventies.

Great photo from US 59 near Hazard Street towards downtown Houston taken in 1962. I particularly like the small car left-of-center that has no doors. Guessing you get in front the front with the engine in rear.
Nice to at least know our predecessors struggled with traffic and delay just like the rest of us.

My score was lower than Jason Varitek’s batting average. Thankfully I remembered Mondale.

Pretty cool little tool if you ever need to draw up a fender bender. Or, as a friend of mine once did, you can scream into the phone “do you know what I do for a living” until the other side whimpers away.

Jack White’s studio + Carl Sagan + Auto Tune = Awesome
Oh and remember to vote in Houston Runoff Elections (December 12 – mark your calendar). Yesterday’s less than 20% turnout is pathetic.
