New Challenge for Going Green

One of the biggest energy savings that a municipality can capture is the switch to high efficiency LEDs on traffic signals and other lighting that is on for extended periods of time.  We are always interested though, in the new challenges occur with these seemingly “no brainer” ideas.   As the video below shows,  high efficiency signal displays don’t throw off all the excess heat of older systems (part of the reason they are more efficient) and can be a challenge in areas where snow build up no longer melts away.  I would imagine someone will come up with an easy fix but in the mean time good old fashioned manpower will be needed to do the trick.
